New Orleans is a great place to get married year-round. However, I’d highly suggest using a venue that could accommodate your guest count indoors with the option to have elements outdoors. Notably, this is due to the unpredictable rain storms that frequent New Orleans, in addition to the high heat and humidity levels from April – October.

It’s also worth checking your dates for various holidays (Mardi Gras) or festivals to make sure they don’t make lodging or travel to your venue difficult or impossible.

January – March: This is a great time to get married in New Orleans (Outside of the week of Mardi Gras). The weather will be much more in your favor and it is fully outside of hurricane season.

April – October: This time of year is when the heat starts to set in for the year. Notably, it’s also when the greenery comes fully alive and the city is in peak form. Likewise, it’s hot. Be sure to have an indoor element to your wedding day to give guests a break from the heat and humidity.

It’s worth nothing, Hurricane season begins June 1st and runs through November 30th.

October – December: October is when the weather begins to cool off again. Notably, this time frame can be a bit sneaky with late season hurricanes and weather, but typically it’s a great time to be in New Orleans as there’s plenty going on in the city and the weather is very favorable.
