An Overview Of Having A Wedding In New Orleans
Why New Orleans Is The Perfect & Most Unique Place To Have Your Wedding
New Orleans is truly one of a kind. Notably, NOLA is perfect for weddings that want a true destination feel. When it comes to the local culture, foods and things to experience, it’s truly unmatched. Likewise, these cultural elements and experiences are at the center of every wedding in New Orleans as well. From the historic wedding venues, to the unmatched food, every wedding is so much more than a standard event you might experience elsewhere.
As someone who grew up in Louisiana, got my start in wedding photography in New Orleans and has photographed and filmed weddings all over the world, there’s truly any other place like it. I keep coming back to New Orleans with an excitement, knowing that each wedding is going to bring a sense of unpredictability and impeccable style & taste.
Whether you’re having a micro-wedding or a more luxurious wedding, there’s a place for every style of wedding in the Crescent City.
What To Expect When Getting Married In New Orleans In 2026, 2027 & Beyond
New Orleans weddings can have a wide array of pricing. Most commonly, this final number comes down to your guest count and your desired level of design and planner involvement. However, you can most likely expect to spend between $25,000 – $50,000 on the low end. A more likely number would be $45,000 – $75,000 for weddings with +100 guests.
Notably, you should also consider the weather and local events when picking your wedding date. While hurricane season runs from April through the end ofNovember, it’s at it’s peak from August – early October. Be sure to know your cancellation options with your venue and vendors during this time.
Likewise, knowing the events around your dates can greatly determine your prices and ease of access. With Mardi Gras always being between February 3rd and March 9th and other festivals across the year, things can book up quickly. It’s best to know what might effect your dates.
