Day One
It’s true. Just the day before their Breckenridge Colorado Elopement Morgan & Tom eluded a bear right outside of their A-Frame. Just hours later, the sun began to rise over the Colorado Rocky Mountains and they began to prepare themselves for the day ahead, their wedding day.
However, this wasn’t a very traditional wedding day. An elopement by definition, yet full of surprises. Not rushed, but full of intention. Full of love. Focused on the journey that brought them to this day and gratitude for the moment that they were in. It wasn’t long after we met up at Blue Lakes that the two were saying their vows in a sacred moment of honesty and appreciation.
These two didn’t care about the views, just one another. While we were in one of the most beautiful locations in all of Colorado, it just didn’t seem to matter to them. They enjoyed the rushing of a nearby waterfall, soaking in the views of the peaks that surrounded them. However, the stillness wasn’t deafening, it was appreciated, welcomed, coveted.
As the sun rose higher in the sky, the two made the drive back to their airbnb, a peculiar A-frame cabin. Equipped with a record player and a box of 80’s jazz albums, the two felt right at home. Tom, a music teacher, had an immaculate taste in music, and knew just the records to set the laid-back atmosphere that Morgan and He desired, as they ate their cake and enjoyed the cool summer breeze.

Day Two
Morgan & Tom love waterfalls. Located at the base of the continental divide, Calypso Cascades happens to be one of the most beautiful falls in Colorado. Though requiring a hike in, the trek to the falls is one of the most beautiful in the state. Rushing water, mountain views, all under a canopy of spruce trees that cover the trail until you reach the cascades. As their Breckenridge Elopement Photographer, it really doesn’t get much better than this.
Much like their wedding day, this was not a complicated matter. The mission was simple, intentional. Enjoy time together. Bask in the natural beauty of Colorado. Most importantly, continue to celebrate their Colorado wedding in a way that felt natural, honest. As the sun began set and shine through the forest, it was clear as ever. These two were perfect for one another. There was nothing that could separate them.
