Getting legally married in Iceland requires legal paperwork, but is not difficult. However, the act of planning a wedding in Iceland is fairly easy with the correct resources. Notably, choosing the right photographer and/or planner will make this process very easy.

What Are The Best Wedding Venues In Iceland?

The best wedding venues and locations in Iceland are easily the natural beauty of the country. However, if you are looking for a more traditional venue, many of the +350 churches across the country can be rented, in addition to many eclectic modern and vintage style hotels and buildings in Reykjavik and beyond.

How Much Is A Wedding Photographer In Iceland?

An experienced wedding photographer in Iceland will typically cost between $7,500 – $9,500 usd. While this cost will often give you 8-12 hours of coverage, in most cases it will include planning services such as timeline creation, location scouting, travel tips & oftentimes other misc. trip planning assitance.

Is Hiring A Wedding Planner In Iceland Needed?

For the best and most personalized experience, hiring a wedding planner in Iceland is advised. However, for two person elopements a planner is not always necessary. In most cases, your photographer should be able to guide you through the planning process.

How Much Does A Wedding In Iceland Cost?

To get married in Iceland, the total cost (including all travel costs, photography, planning, etc.) is typically between $12,000 – $18,000 usd. Notably, this costs reflects your entire trip (approx. 5-7 days).

Would You Advise Having An Iceland Winter Wedding?

Getting married in Iceland in the winter months (November – April) are incredibly beautiful. Notably, the weather is cold, unpredictable and daylight is typically under 6-hours, with the shortest day being just over 4-hours.

Whether it be the warm embrace of your family or the subtle smile of your best friend as you walk down the isle. It’s about authentically living out your wedding day and being in the moment with those that surround you and love you most.

I want to document your entire day in a true-to-life way that only brings the moments, emotions and sounds come rushing back to you for a lifetime to come.

My approach is laid-back and natural. I’ll work as a documentarian as the day naturally flows and step in to give direction in the moments that need it. Your photographs and films will be captured to enhance the nostalgia of all the moments, sights and sounds that you experienced, garnering a true to life, yet poetic take on the world that surrounds us.

I want you to look back on your images and films and have those moments come rushing back to you. I want to create a work of art that resonates with you for years to come, bringing to light your life, wedding and masterpiece. To me, it’s about creating a piece of art that evokes within you to remain inspired by the feeling, thoughts, sounds and loved ones you experienced on your wedding day.

Your films and photographs don’t have to make sense or give context to anyone else – only you.

Yes! I shoot both photography and videography on film and digital mediums. Film photography is shot on 120 & 35mm film. Film videography is shot on 16mm and Super 8. Approx. 70% of the photographs you see on this site are film.

Film coverage is included in each photography collection (2-rolls, approx. 50 final images). More encompassing film photography coverage is available as an add-on service.

Couples can currently book me for the following services:

On average, you can expect 50-75 edited photographs per hour of coverage. I do not limit the number of photos you will receive – if the photos portray you, your guests and your event in a good and meaningful light (and is not a duplicate), I will include it in your gallery.

The length of your film is dependent on your coverage length. Average highlight film lengths in relation to coverage can be seen below.

In my +9 years of professional experience I’ve photographed and filmed over 150 weddings ranging from multi-day destination weddings to smaller, intimate gatherings.

Of course! Due to prioritizing life with my family, I am taking on more limited bookings outside of Colorado (where I live) and New Orleans (where I’m from). However, I’d love to chat with you about your date and see how I can make it happen. I’ll also always be down to make an Iceland or NYC date happen.

Travel rates will be determined upon your specific event/shoot location. All locations within 2-hours of Boulder, Colorado will not incur a travel fee.

For 2025 & 2026, events in New Orleans and New York do not incur travel fees.

Iceland Rates are quoted on a case-to-case basis. Rates are dependent on your specific location within Iceland and the time of year.

Upon the selection of your coverage, a signed contract agreement and payment of a 30% retainer officially lock in your wedding date.

Bookings are on a first come first serve basis with the submission of a signed contract and paid retainer. Typically, most couples book 12-18 months out.
