tHE Katla Geopark To Seljalandsfoss
Sitting just above the town of Vik, Iceland – the Katla Geopark is a terrific display of everything Iceland embodies. A magnificent display of volcanic rock, moss, rivers, waterfalls and mountains tease the eyes before setting sight on the beautiful glacier that intertwines it all. Taylor and Nate began their wedding experience here. We explored the area through and through – it’s beauty was magnificent.
After dinner at the excellent Smiðjan Brugghús, we made our way to Seljalandsfoss. While cloudy, the sun began to just peak out enough to give us an outer worldly glow. As the sun began to set, we quickly ran up the mountainous area behind the falls to capture the sun dipping blow the cloud line. After, were on to our next day – their wedding day.

Mulagljufur Canyon

It was a beautiful, foggy start for a wedding day taking place at Mulagljufur Canyon. As I arrived to their airbnb, the two were getting ready, making jokes of the local cat who had snuck into their window overnight – who they happily discovered in the morning. Comparisons of Icelandic & American fruit loops made their way into the conversation as the two began to copy their vows to a physical book as laughs were shared over the lost art of handwritten materials.
Upon arrival at Múlagljúfur canyon, we were pleasantly surprised with the lack of fog. After all, it was supposed to be a day full of it, with rain to close things out. As we make the hike up the canyon, we found wild blueberries and were questioned about them by our fellow hikers. We laughed and hiked on as one jokingly questioned our reputability and said, “how long has it been since you’ve eaten them?” Of course, we knew that we were eating the real deal.
Upon arrival at the top, the two found the perfect Iceland wedding venue. A cliffside amongst one of the most beautiful feats of nature Iceland has to offer. As they said their vows, a quiet came over the area. The small crowd that was once there faded, and the two had it all to themselves in a perfect moment.

An Evening At Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
An etherial blue can only describe that of a glacier in Iceland, even more so an Iceland glacier wedding. A blue so sacred that one cannot personally fathom without seeing it amongst life. To not make this moment more than it was, Taylor and Nate simply enjoyed this time together amongst the beauty. Upon the eire sound of cracking ice miles in the distance, we decided to call it day on their beautiful Iceland glacier elopement and made our way to a celebratory dinner of fish & chips, burgers and schnitzel at an N1 station.

Seydisfjordor
It so happened that our schedules aligned in the few days following their Iceland wedding. We met in the town of Seydisfjordor for dinner and then made our way down the fjord to watch the sunset. While a deep river crossing stopped us from advancing to our objective, we settled down along the coastline to watch the light slowly disappear before heading our separate ways.
