The Beauty Of Iceland Is Something Best Experienced In Unison. However, It’s Only Then Do We See The Many Different Perspectives That It Has To Offer and The Many Lives It’s Lived.
Iceland Cave Wedding
tHe Canyon
Our days together started at an Icelandic farmhouse for dinner. As we discussed their next travels to Amsterdam, and a chocolate tour spanning three countries – it was evident that the two were just excited to be in this moment.
The further we trekked into the canyon, the colder it became. They then laughingly hopped along the rocky in an attempt to keep their feet dry, but only along the chain did their feet succumb to the water for just a moment. Just ahead was our objective – a beautiful waterfall that was suggested by our wonderful, local, Icelandic guide for the next day, Magnus. As the water roared behind us – the two were all smiles in a moment of clarity.
As we exited the canyon, the sun began to set and we watched it for a bit from the foothills. After, a car ripped down the f-road in the distance, leaving a dust trail. The wind was quiet and the sky and mountains began to turn blue. Not long after, the sun broke out in spectacular fashion over the horizon, changing the blue landscape into the most golden haven I’ve personally experienced.
As the two ran into the distance towards the light, between the lone mountain and the riverbed – it was truly a miraculous sight.

Iceland Ice Cave Wedding
The Road To The Ice Cave
This was a big day for Kiyo & Paul’s Iceland Ice Cave Wedding. Upon getting ready, we met up with our local guide for the day, Magnus. He arrived in quite the fashion. An imported and customized 2009 Land Cruiser that boasted 20 inch tires. He was truly prepared for the moment and fully capable of traversing any landscape Iceland had to offer.
After a quick sample of the vehicles capabilities on the black sand beach – we made our way down the old route 1. However, this route now has been overtaken by the volcanic landscape, leaving just two tire tracks in the midst of it all. With a very insightful history of the land that surrounded us – we were now en route to the Ice Caves.

Katla Ice Cave
Unlike the ethereal blue characteristic that you sight see at Jökulsárlón, the Katla Ice Cave is quite different. However, it’s the perfect place for Iceland Wedding Photography. It’s unique feature of sitting on land, not water make it safe to access year round, preventing unsuspecting collapses. In addition, due to being on an dormant, yet soon to be active volcano, it’s rich history has left many layers of ash on top of it’s surface. In conclusion, making it look like a black, volcanic mountain with sprinkles of white and blue throughout.
As Magnus guided us through the glacier and to an actual cave, it was a surreal experience. In conclusion, it was unlike anything I had personally ever experienced, the beauty was just as unimaginable. Knowing the scale and the ancient history that was below us was mesmerizing.

Iceland Cave Wedding
The Yoda Cave
As their Iceland Cave Wedding came to a close at the Yoda Cave, we ripped down the beach in the Land Cruiser to the water. It had become quite cloudy, the sun had disappeared and a blue set over us. Upon arrival, we heard the waves crash. We admired the sights, the day, the moment before heading back to our rendezvous point to close out their incredible wedding day.
