Spring Elopements In Colorado

When To Elope In Colorado

01.

Eloping in Colorado in the Spring is Beautiful. This season generally comes in two waves. At lower elevations it can begin as early as mid-April, while higher elevations generally begin in mid-May. Early May to mid-June brings temperatures that max out in the mid-70's to low-80's. These temps also bring an abundance of vibrant colors & wildflowers. At higher elevations, it's safe to assume that the wildflowers & colors will be about a month behind the lower elevations (dependent upon the elevation).

Summer Elopements In Colorado

02.

June through August mark the warmest months of the year in Colorado. The average temperatures during this time is in the high 80's, occasionally reaching the 90's. Summer elopements in Colorado are the best, as you'll still have wildflowers & color without cooler temps. You'll also have full accessibility to the most beautiful parts of the state. This also marks the busy season for most locations. In recent years, a tourism boom has made some locations quite crowded, which is a good reason to consider eloping on a weekday.

Fall Elopements In Colorado

03.

I'm not going to lie, all of my favorite images have come from fall elopements! The weather is perfect, crowds are at a minimum & the colors are incredible (ie. the photo to the left). September & October generally mark the fall season as tourism slows & the temps begin to drop. The landscapes have less greenery, but the sunrises & sunsets really compliment the fall colors. The Aspens golden leaves are also a beautiful sight to experience, & also provide one of the most vibrant backdrops you'll ever see.

Winter Elopements In Colorado

04.

While winter in Colorado can be cold, winter is a great time to elope in Colorado. Higher elevations can expect average highs in the 30's & 40's at peak times. Lower elevations are closer to the high 40's. Winter elopements also provide a beautiful snowy backdrop. While some locations aren't accessible in the winter, the snow really brings others to life. I'm always down to snowshoe, ski, or hike to more remote locations in the winter (and honestly love it). Don't let the cold scare you though! I'll make sure you're prepared for it all!

Want to hike to your location? You'll have an incredible selection! Want a drive up location? You'll be covered there as well! There's no shortage of beauty here. Whether you want high elevation alpine views, rolling foothills or something in between, Colorado has it.

One of my favorite landscapes in the entire world is a good Alpine Lake. Colorado has no shortage of them either. While some might require a hike, others are fairly accessible. Regardless of your preferences, we'll find the perfect one for you and make it yours for the day.

While Colorado lacks larger bodies of water, it excels in beautiful rivers & waterfalls. Often surrounded by sweeping meadows & alpine trees, they're truly something to experience. Generally the higher in elevation you get, the more beautiful sights you'll see.

This delicate ecosystem features some of the best views in all of Colorado. While precautions need to be taken to preserve it, Colorado has a large network of trails that allow us to access most tundras. You'll really feel like you're eloping in the clouds, and sometimes you truly will!

Experience The Local Culture

Colorado is one of the most beautiful states in the country. With plenty of highly accessible mountains, you can hike to a location or drive right up to it! Catch a sunrise or sunset at the top of a mountain - or just soak in the moment next to a glacial creek. The options are truly endless!

What's better than toasting a great meal at the top of the mountain with your spouse? Many couples also love sharing an intimate dinner cooked by a private chef or themselves. However you choose, it's the perfect way to experience a great meal on your own terms without any pressure.

Imagine sunrise at the top of a mountain without the intense hike to get there. While I love hiking, it's not always the most efficient when you're chasing the light. 4X4's give you the best of both worlds: Incredible views & no crowds. Need more convincing?

Colorado is known for many things but its' rich brewing culture & mountain lore are at the top of the list. From brewery hopping to exploring mountain towns, there's no shortage of adventure. We can explore the city, hike a mountain, & eat at an incredible place all in the same day.

Finding Your Flights To Colorado

Getting To Colorado & The Best Places To Stay

If you're eloping east of Vail, Denver International Airport will likely be the best & most affordable option for you to fly into. DIA is the only major airport in the state & offers a wide range of airlines. If you're looking to elope in the Western side of the state (Telluride, Crested Butte, etc.) Grand Junction & Montrose might be worth taking a look at. They'll likely be more expensive than flying into DIA, you could save yourself about 5-6 hours of driving.

Getting Around While In Colorado

Public transit around the Denver Metro area is actually really great! It's easy & safe to use & has a wide range of options to get you around. Renting a car is necessary for mountain locations, but you can definitely travel cities without one. If you do plan on renting a vehicle, I'd highly suggest renting a 4WD or AWD vehicle. Especially in the winter months due to snowfall. Overall, it's an incredibly easy state to get around between the public transportation & good infrastructure.

The Best Places To Stay For Your Colorado Elopement

With a booming tourism industry, Colorado also has no shortage of unique places to stay. Whether you want a mountain lodge or sleek downtown hotel, you'll be covered! AirBnb's type rentals are also in abundance in the mountain areas (due to the ski resorts). Often times they are very affordable during the off-season. They also provide you with a large enough "venue" to host an elopement or intimate wedding ceremony, which could save you some money & logistics planning on the back end!
